Beyond work

Good food, loud crowds, and the next place on the map.

Outside work, I am usually planning the next trip, cooking for a full table, or heading to the stadium. I enjoy the kind of experiences that are better shared.

Augusto, Marcella, and their Shiba Inu, Sake

Home base

The people and playlists that keep me grounded.

I am happily married to Marcella, and we live in São Paulo with Sake, our Shiba Inu. Her name is a nod to the Japanese drink and to a dog with Japanese roots.

Family is a big part of my life. I am very close to my mother, my two sisters, and my two brothers. We live in different cities, but stay in touch and make time to gather around food and drinks whenever we can.

Music has a place in nearly every part of my day: driving, cooking, working, and exercising. Lately, I gravitate toward samba, country, and rock, but I am happy to listen to almost anything.

Always on the way

A new city is usually a very good idea.

I cannot remember the last time I took a few days off without going somewhere. That can mean another country, a different Brazilian state, or simply a nearby city that deserves more attention. Exploring places, trying food, and meeting different people and cultures is one of my favorite ways to reset.

Japan stays with me for its food and precision: a 13-course omakase in Tokyo, with the chef right in front of us explaining each dish, was unforgettable. In Italy, one especially happy memory is sunset with Marcella by the Navigli canal in Milan, sharing a good bottle of white wine.

The 2026 World Cup took five friends and me across New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Miami, and Houston. We made five matches, including three Brazil games: a 3-0 group-stage win in Philadelphia, a 2-1 win against Japan in Houston, and the painful 2-1 loss to Norway in New York.

The table is usually full

Cooking is how I bring people together.

I learned the basics from my mother, who is a great cook. From there, I started exploring the dishes I enjoyed most and found that cooking is at its best when it gives people a reason to stay a little longer.

My proudest dish is a classic steak tartare with more seasoning than many restaurants dare to use, plus a proper Dijon mayonnaise. Beyond that, I like trying my hand at all kinds of cooking, from fresh pasta and Middle Eastern dishes to barbecue and whatever else catches my attention.

Hosting friends and family is my favorite version of it, but I am just as happy to show up at someone else’s home and take over the kitchen for the evening.

The crowd is part of the game

Football is better with the whole day around it.

I support Corinthians and make it to the stadium every other week when I can. For me, much of the joy is in the crowd: finding a bar near the stadium a few hours before kick-off, having a few beers, and letting the day build toward the match.

I love the club’s connection to its people and the history of Democracia Corinthiana. At home, I watch as much football as I can; my PS5 mainly exists for EA FC.

Call me for a trip, a match, dinner, or an experience. I’m probably in.
